RenderMan 19 – Announced

Hello everyone

Last night, a new version of RenderMan was presented in London. The new version of RenderMan (Version 19), has now combined ‘Pro Server’ and ‘Studio’ into 1 single product. It introduces new features and lots of improvements etc. For all the technical stuff, you should head over to fxguide for an in-depth coverage.

It has also gotten quite a price reduction, it now costs $495 for a full commercial license, and also there’s a FREE non-commercial version, which is amazing! So if you want to try out RenderMan, head over to Pixar RenderMan and register your interest in the free non-commercial version.

I will definitely keep using RenderMan inside of NUKE!

I already have an installation guide for setting up RenderMan Pro Server for use in NUKE, for Mac OSX, which can be found here.
I will make an updated video, as soon as the new RenderMan is released.

This post is to make you all aware of the new RenderMan that just was announced last night, as it’s looking amazing!

As always, you can contact my mail, in case you have any tutorial requests, just wanna chat, etc.

Cheers,
Jonas Jørgensen 🙂

This is pretty cool – how well is this integrated into C4D, work investigating? – or do you solely use it with Nuke?

      Hi Matt,
I’m really not into Cinema 4D (I’m more of a Houdini and Maya man myself), but after a quick search, there should be an option called CineMan inside of the render settings.

      Here’s a video explaining it:

      Cheers,
      Jonas
