Cinema 4D Training : Developing Realistic Shaders in Arnold – Vol.01

$ 65.00 USD

Over almost 8 hours, learn how to develop advanced & realistic shaders in Arnold for Cinema 4D.

Developing Realistic Shaders in Arnold for Cinema 4D – Vol.01
from Mograph +

This is the first volume of a series of courses created at mographplus.com intended to introduce the tools and workflows for creating complex and realistic shaders, utilising Solid Angle’s Arnold renderer in Cinema 4D.

The goal in this course is not only how to create realistic shaders but also how to train your eyes to see real world surfaces and analyse their features, then recreate those surfaces and shaders in Arnold.

This first volume covers four major shader categories: PLASTICS / GLASSES / METALS / FABRICS

For each category, you begin by familiarising yourself with the features of that shader type in real-world before recreating those features using Arnold shaders and nodes.

Let’s begin … with PLASTIC

In the first lesson of this course you learn how plastics tend to appear in real-world and what features they have, after that you start using Arnold for Cinema 4D to recreate those features.

In the second lesson you recreate a highly-detailed bowling ball shader and go all the way making it as detailed and realistic as possible.

Next you create the shader for a vintage, shiny, dirty, plastic phone.

Next … let’s discuss GLASS

In the first lesson of this section, after understanding the physical features of glass, you will recreate different types of glasses in their bare minimum form.

In the second lesson you recreate a smudged glass shader, it takes time but the results are definitely worth the effort.

Then take a look at creating an extreme example, a dirty rusty coloured glass shader, Kamel promises there is a lot to learn here.

Now … METAL

The next category is metals.

In the first lesson of this section, as with plastic and glass, explore how metals work in real-world then create different types of metals.

In the second lesson you will create a detailed scratched vintage silver mug and learn how to create every little detail in the reference photo.

Next in the lesson, create the shader for a bronze cast sculpture and also a few other versions of the same shader to make it more interesting.

After that, learn how to create antique metal shaders.

Finally … FABRIC

In the final lesson of the first volume, explore fabrics and discover how to realistically create different types of fabrics in Arnold Renderer.

The majority of this course comprises of taking a reference photo and using Arnold for Cinema 4D to recreate that shader. The aim is to be as informative as possible and to not be repetitive as the rules may change sometimes.

Also, this is a live course, so if there is a request for a specific shader in those 4 covered categories, Kamel will update the course with more videos ensuring you get the most out of this tutorial.

In the second volume of this course Cinema 4D Training : Developing Realistic Shaders in Arnold – Vol.02 a further three major shader categories are learned; WOOD / LEATHER & TRANSLUCENT.

There is a lot to learn in Volume 1 … Volume 2 too! So if you are trying to take your Arnold knowledge to the next level and learn how to build complex shader networks in Arnold, you are in the right place.

Let’s get started!
